Charitable Services Group

Our people are proud to work at Goldman Sachs because our firm is committed to providing financial support, time, energy and the talents of our people to a wide range of institutions and organizations. The following program highlights, including Community TeamWorks, Mentoring, our Public Service Program, The Capacity Building Initiative and Disaster Relief, illustrate the diversity of our philanthropy and the commitment of our people to communities worldwide.

Community TeamWorks is Goldman Sachs’ signature volunteer program that allows each person one day away from work to volunteer on a team- based project with a nonprofit organization. In 2007, we celebrated the program’s eleventh anniversary.

The Public Service Program is a global initiative affording Goldman Sachs' top performers a unique opportunity to serve the public and to develop leadership skills in an entirely new environment. Fellows are selected and then given paid leave for one year to work with an organization of their choice to carry out their Public Service Program project.

Mentoring is Goldman Sachs’ most important year-round volunteer initiative. It represents our belief that having a mentor can help individuals reach their potential and achieve their goals. Over the years, the firm’s commitment to mentoring has grown, expanding to include opportunities for our people in several regional offices as well as London.

The Capacity Building Initiative, launched in 2006, helps nonprofit organizations increase their impact through capacity building assistance. Partner organizations have access to workshops on capacity building topics including board development, strategic planning, financial management, program evaluation, staff development as well as a select group of organizations receiving funding.
